Why this page exists
Trust matters on a site that earns commission from some links. This page explains how we gather information, what we can and cannot verify, how we handle affiliate relationships and how to tell us if we are wrong. It also connects to our glossary, corrections log and data pages.
What we evaluate
- Product specifications: material, height, weight, skeleton and insert
- Seller policies: production and delivery time, returns, warranty, payments and support
- Price: the delivered price including shipping and possible duties (cost guide)
- Evidence: public information and owner reports, labelled as such
- Risk: scam indicators and refund protections (seller vetting)
What we cannot verify
We cannot independently verify every factory claim, material composition or customs rule. When we cannot, we say so and tell you what to confirm. We do not claim laboratory testing, and we do not publish price indexes or surveys unless we have collected the data ourselves (price data note, survey note). Legal and customs information is general and may be out of date (legal guide).
Affiliate relationships and independence
We earn a commission on purchases made through some links, including links to Joy Love Dolls. Those links are marked rel="sponsored nofollow", pages with them carry a disclosure and commission does not buy a review or a rating. Read the full affiliate disclosure and editorial policy. We also review sellers we do not earn from, and we state drawbacks for those we do; see our Joy Love Dolls review for an example. >> jl=all | See the Joy Love Dolls catalogue, and apply our checklists to it as you would any store.
Writing and editing standards
We aim for plain language, answer-first summaries, hedged claims where evidence is limited and links to official sources where rules matter. Content is for adults. We do not cover child-like dolls (policy). We update pages when we find errors and record material changes in the corrections log. See about the editors for who we are and how to contact us.

What a review contains and why
Each review aims to cover: what the product or store is, the specification as published, policies, strengths, drawbacks, what we could not verify and the affiliate relationship. We do not publish a score without saying what it is based on.
Worked example: how we would assess a store
| Step | Question | Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Who runs the store? | Company details, contact, domain |
| 2 | What is promised? | Product pages, policies |
| 3 | What do customers report? | Independent reviews |
| 4 | What happens if it goes wrong? | Warranty, returns, dispute rights |
| 5 | What can we not verify? | Marked clearly |
| We then write the review, including drawbacks, and disclose any affiliate link (disclosure). |
Limits of our approach
We rely on public information and are not an auditor. Policies and prices change after publication. Readers should apply their own checks (seller vetting).
Handling conflicts of interest
Commission is a conflict. We manage it by disclosing, stating drawbacks, not accepting payment for rankings and logging corrections. You should still cross-check with independent sources (fake reviews guide).
Updating and corrections
Pages show a real last-updated date only when we change them. Material changes are logged (corrections log). We do not backdate.
Reading our rankings
Our Top 10 and brand pages (Top 10 companies, brand comparison) are editorial opinion, not user ratings. >> jl=all | Apply our review criteria yourself to any store, including Joy Love Dolls.
Key takeaways
- We use specifications, policies and public reports, not lab tests
- Affiliate links are disclosed and do not decide our opinions
- Unverified claims are hedged
- Corrections are logged and welcome
