Start now, not on the dayJudging a deal on the dayCoupon codes and stackingTiming questions people askWhere to compareA simple Black Friday routineBlack Friday in 2026 lands on November 27, the day after US Thanksgiving, with Cyber Monday following on November 30. Doll retailers, like most online stores, tend to run their loudest promotions around that weekend. This post is not a list of deals, because we do not know what any store will offer and we are not going to guess. It is a checklist for the thing that actually saves you money: judging a deal before you click "buy".
Our evergreen guide to the doll sale calendar covers when discounts tend to appear through the year. Here we focus on what to do in the weeks before, and what to ignore on the day.
Start now, not on the day
The best Black Friday preparation happens in the weeks before it. Sales reward buyers who already know what they want, because the ones who browse during a countdown timer tend to pick what the page pushes.
- Shortlist two or three dolls now. Write down the specifications you care about: height, weight, material, head, body type and the options you need. If you are not sure what matters, our buying guide is the place to start.
- Record today's price. Note the price, shipping cost and any stated duties on each shortlisted doll today, with the date. Without that, a "40% off" banner has nothing to be compared against.
- Decide your ceiling. Set a maximum delivered price in advance. If a deal does not get under it, you walk away.
- Read the policies in calm. Returns, warranty, production time and shipping terms are boring to read on Black Friday and important to read before. Save copies of the pages.
Judging a deal on the day
Compare the final delivered price
A discounted sticker price means little if shipping, duty or handling fees are added later. Add up the doll price, shipping, any customs or VAT you will owe, and any fees, and compare that to your recorded pre-sale number. The rules for imports changed a lot this year, as we explain in our posts on US tariffs and the EU parcel duty, so ask whether the quoted price is delivered duty paid and get the answer in writing.
Read what the discount excludes
Almost every promotion has fine print. Typical exclusions include certain brands or models, custom orders, accessories, or items already marked down. Check whether the discount applies to the exact configuration you want, including the head, options and body type. If the price changes when you pick the options, that is the real price.
Be careful with markdowns that look too good
A discount only means something compared to a real previous price. If a store lists an inflated "regular price" next to a sale price, the percentage off is marketing. Check whether the sale price is in line with the price that you recorded earlier, and with prices elsewhere for the same product. Because comparing is easier with a shortlist, the work you did in advance pays for itself here.
Ignore the pressure
Countdown clocks, "only three left" banners and pop-ups claiming other buyers are looking at the same doll are designed to speed you up. They are not a reason to skip the policy checks above. A dolls purchase is expensive, delivered by freight, and hard to reverse; a genuine seller will usually still be there the next day, and if a deal truly disappears, another will come. We cover this and more in our seller and scam guide.
Be suspicious of an unknown store with a huge discount
Fake stores love sale weekends, because shoppers are primed to accept low prices. A price far below every other seller's, a brand-new domain with no history, payment only by untraceable methods, or no real company details are all reasons to stop. Use a payment method that gives you dispute rights, and read the seller's terms before paying. Our seller guide has a vetting checklist.
Coupon codes and stacking
Many stores use coupon codes in addition to or instead of banner discounts. Some codes cannot be combined with sale prices, and some apply only to certain collections. Before you pay, check the final order summary: it should show each discount applied and the total. If a code seems to do nothing, ask support instead of assuming it will be applied later. Keep a screenshot of the order page and the confirmation email.
Timing questions people ask
Should I wait for Black Friday? If the doll you want is on your shortlist and you are not in a hurry, it is reasonable to see what stores offer. But waiting has a cost if you wanted it sooner, and nobody can promise a particular store will discount a particular model. We would not delay a purchase you need on the strength of a rumor.
Will it arrive before the holidays? Production time is a common reason an order takes longer than people expect. Our Joy Love Dolls review says production usually takes 7 to 10 days and shipping about the same, for a total of 14 to 20 days, but that was a statement from the review and not a guarantee for a sale-season order. Ask the seller for a delivery estimate that accounts for the holiday rush, and see our delivery time guide.
Does a sale change the return policy? It can. Some stores treat sale items differently, so check the terms that apply to the item you buy.
Where to compare
If you are building a shortlist, you can browse the Joy Love Dolls full range to see how a big catalogue is organised by material, height and price, and our review explains what we found. Our reviews of Silicon Wives and Madam Dolly give you other points of comparison. That Joy Love link is an affiliate link, so we may earn a commission if you buy through it, at no extra cost to you. It does not affect our scores or how we describe any store's discounts.
A simple Black Friday routine
- Before: shortlist, record prices, set a ceiling, read policies.
- On the day: compare the delivered total, read exclusions, confirm the DDP term, check the coupon in the order summary.
- Before paying: save the order page, check payment protection, and make sure you can contact the seller.
- After: keep every email and the tracking number, and inspect the box on arrival. Our unboxing checklist explains what to photograph.
If at any point the deal depends on you not reading something, skip it. There will be another sale.
