This post is about sex doll torsos. We do not have verified information on new models, so instead of repeating listing labels, this post covers how to choose a torso, following our torso guide. That guide says torsos are lighter, cheaper and easier to clean and store than full dolls but offer only part of a body; that you should compare listed weight, whether the insert is fixed or removable, material, and whether legs or a head are included; and that they suit limited space, tight budgets or a low-commitment start.

What you give up, and what you gain

A torso is not a smaller doll. It is part of a body, so the comparison with a full doll is a trade.

You gain: lower weight, lower price, simpler cleaning and drying, easier storage and a smaller delivery.

You give up: the whole-body realism, and the ability to pose or hold a full figure. Our post on torso or full doll sets out the choice, and our post on mini dolls covers the middle option. All the products we cover are adult-proportioned.

The key spec: fixed or removable insert

Torsos differ in how the intimate part is built.

  • Fixed: part of the body, moulded in. Simpler and no loose parts, but harder to clean thoroughly, because you cannot take it out.
  • Removable: an insert you can take out, clean separately and replace. Easier to clean and often easier to dry, but there is a part to keep track of, and spares may or may not be available.

Which is better is a personal choice. Ask the seller what the insert is made of, how it is retained, how it should be cleaned and whether replacements are sold. Hygiene matters, so read our safety and hygiene guide and our cleaning guide.

Weight: lighter, but not weightless

A torso is far lighter than a full doll, but it is still a dense lump of material and can weigh more than people expect. Ask for the weight of the exact torso, and what it includes: legs, a head, a stand. Then try the home test in our post on how heavy is too heavy. Our guide on lightweight dolls explains how weight is reduced and what it costs.

What is included

Torso listings vary a lot.

  • Legs: none, partial or full. Check what the picture shows and what ships.
  • Head: some torsos include a head, and some do not.
  • Arms: present or absent.
  • Stand or support: included or sold separately.
  • Cover or bag: often useful for storage.

The listing photo may show accessories that are not included. Ask for a written list of contents, and ask for real photos of the actual product. See our guide on factory photos versus real photos.

Material

Torsos come in TPE and silicone, and the material shapes feel, care and price. Our materials guide explains the differences, and our explainers on TPE and silicone cure type help you interpret what a seller tells you. Ask for the material in writing.

Care and storage

Torsos are easier to wash and dry than a full doll, and easier to store. A bag or box on a shelf or in a wardrobe often suffices. Keep it clean, dry, supported, out of sun and away from dyed fabric. See our posts on storage setups, dye transfer and powder. Check lubricant compatibility as in our post on lubricant and dolls.

Price and delivered cost

Torsos are cheaper, but compare delivered duty paid totals. A smaller parcel may be treated differently by customs and carriers, and import rules changed in 2026. See our posts on US tariffs and the EU parcel duty. In the EU, the €3 duty is applied per item in a parcel, so a torso order with accessories may be treated item by item. Confirm with the seller.

Privacy

A smaller box is easier to receive and to store discreetly, though packaging cannot hide a parcel's existence or the customs paperwork. Our post on discreet packaging explains what to ask.

A good first step, with a caveat

Many people use a torso as a low-commitment way to find out what they like about material and care. That is reasonable, with the caveat that a torso does not tell you how you would feel about a full body. If your reason for buying is whole-body realism, the torso may not satisfy it, and you may end up paying twice.

Questions to ask the seller

  • What is the exact weight, and what is included?
  • Is the insert fixed or removable, and what is it made of?
  • Are replacement inserts sold, and at what price?
  • What is the body material, and the care advice?
  • Can I see real photos of this torso?
  • What is the delivered duty paid price?
  • What does the warranty cover, and what are the return terms?

A final checklist

  • Do you know the exact weight and what is included in it?
  • Is the insert fixed or removable, and are spares sold?
  • Do you have the material in writing and the care instructions?
  • Do you have real photos of the actual product?
  • Do you know the delivered total, including duty, and the warranty terms?

Where to compare

Our reviews of TPE Doll, Silicon Wives and Joy Love Dolls describe retailers that sell a range of formats. For a look at one large retailer's range, the Joy Love Dolls catalogue is one place to browse, and you should ask the seller the questions above about any torso you shortlist. That is an affiliate link: we may earn a commission if you buy through it, at no extra cost to you, and it does not mean any torso is better than another.

Summary

A torso is the lightest, cheapest, easiest-to-care-for format, at the cost of a full body. Compare weight, insert type, material, what is included and the delivered price, and decide whether a partial body meets your needs.
